Here is a short update about what I am up to at the moment.
As you may have seen in previous blog entries ("Whoohaa!" and
"Integral Counseling - A synopsis"), I have finished writing my book
about Integral Counseling and sent it out to a few publishing
companies.
Back in December, I received an email from one of them, providing
useful feedback to the manuscript and inviting me for a meeting. The
meeting went very well - it was partially an opportunity to get to
know each other, the world of publishers and to discuss the feedback
and marketing possibilities of the book. It all felt very promising
and stimulating! So what needs to be done is a revision of the book
in order to make it more accessible, lively, practical. This I have
done for one chapter now, which I have sent back to the publisher
and I am awaiting his feedback and consent before doing the same
with the other chapters. Furthermore, the title of the book has
changed into something more attractive - tentatively, it's called
The Healing Elephant, now, which I will explain in due time. If all
goes well, the revision is done before summer, so that the book may
be published in Autumn! This is all very exciting for me - bringing
something creative into the world that expresses really what I
believe in!
Other than that, I have now become chairman of the Dutch Association of Counselers (NVVC, Nederlandse Vereniging Van Counselers), the group of professionals sharing a similar background as myself and now striving to form an effective association to make the way we help people better known and get recognition for what we do. If you understand Dutch, please visit the NVVC Website (designed by yours truly) for information.
