Yet another book: NLP: Concepts and Applications

25 November 2008

It seems all my publication efforts are coming together at the moment, as ICFAI Books, an Indian publisher associated with the Indian University Press, has now published the book " Neuro Linguistic Programming: Concepts and Applications". The book features the original article that I have ultimately based my own first book, "The Healing Elephant" on. Below is a general description of the book, that you can find and order at the following site: http://www.books.iupindia.org/more.asp?isbn=978-81-314-1586-3

High-quality interpersonal skills of managers and employees have become the building block for any organization to grow these days. This necessitates one to think actively, act smartly and do resourcefully with control over his or her mind and behavior, to come up with bright ideas. It is a fact that the persona of a person is vastly enriched only after imbibing these qualities. Against this backdrop, here comes the role of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) in the development of personality that ensures success in personal as well as in professional life. Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP is commonly known as a technique originally devised in the 1980s by Richard Bandler and John Grindler. NLP has intrinsic magnetisms, being an approach that focuses on what works as opposed to what is problematic and it is concerned with the “how to” rather than the “what” of development. By using a wide variety of NLP techniques and therapy styles, skill of modeling, ensures that the excellence of outstanding individuals could be transferred effectively to others in any field of human performance.

This edited volume comprises a collection of interesting articles by eminent professionals, practitioners and researchers, in the form of fourteen chapters under two broad sections. The first section introduces a brief understanding about the concepts of NLP. The second section focuses on application of NLP in coaching, business, personal life, etc. Finally, an epilogue briefs about past, present and future prospects of NLP.
